Celebrating LGBT Pride on the tropical island known for its laid-back style is an exceptional experience. Key West has long been known for its open and accepting atmosphere. Playa del Carmen, June 4–10īeautiful Playa del Carmen will have a week of LGBT Pride events, with the theme for 2018 being “Navegando por Amor” (navigating for love). Organizers promise that this year will be no exception. The message of this year’s Pride Puerto Rico will be especially important, as Hurricane Maria has brought a new devastating reality to the small island. Historically the Pride march has been a space of denunciation, for fighting back and for constant visibility - not only for LGBTQ communities, but for dozens of causes, groups and ideas that seek to make Puerto Rico a better place. In fact, it holds the title of “largest Pride” in the Guinness Book of World Records.Īsbury Park is one of the gayest beaches on the East Coast, and rightfully so, as it plays host to New Jersey’s statewide Pride every year. São Paulo Gay Pride is considered the biggest and one of the best gay Pride parades in the world. Last year Guadalajara Pride saw more than 60,000 people turn out for the celebrations. Known as a vibrant cosmopolitan city, Guadalajara hosts one of the top gay Pride parades in Latin America. Porta Venezia, the heart of the gay district in Milan, hosts “Pride Square,” where vendors sell food and drink with live concerts and performances. The parade takes place on the last Saturday of the week. Milano Pride is a parade and week-long festival held at the end of June each year in Milan, Italy’s most LGBT-friendly destination. During that week, many gay cultural events take place, mainly in Casa dei Diritti (House of Rights). As one of the biggest and most popular Pride parades in the country, individuals and organizations from around New England will walk together to advocate for equality, respect and inclusivity. The Boston Pride Parade is a march to celebrate and promote equal rights for the region’s LGBTQ communities. Provincetown is already one of the most exhilirating gay destinations in America, so we can’t imagine how extra fabulous the Cape Cod beach town becomes for its annual Pride celebration. Vallarta Pride, the biggest LGBTQ event in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, returns for its sixth year with a whole week of cultural events, including a performance by Steve Grand, a drag derby and a march against homophobia. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the Long Beach Pride Festival and Parade, which annually attracts over 80,000 participants over the two-day event. It’s described as a “collaborative platform that takes a positive stance against hate and discrimination based on gender and sexual diversity.” Long Beach Pride, May 19–20 Beirut Pride, May 14–20īeirut Pride takes place annually around May 17, the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia. Events take place throughout the city over the course of a week at Yoyogi Park, culminating with the lavish main parade on Sunday, May 6. Tokyo Rainbow Pride, the largest LGBT Pride in Japan, is a week-long event organized by the city’s LGBT community to support and promote awareness and equality.
